Assignment #4- The Movie

There are many things that are alike and different from the film "Into the Wild" and the book "Into the Wild." A difference between the film and the book is that in the movie we meet Chris' family at the beginning of the film, but in the book we meet Chris' family later on in the book. In the book they do not explain Chris having that much stuff that he carried into the wild, but in the movie it looks as if he has a lot of stuff that he brought into the wild with him. He still didn't have tons of stuff but it seemed as if it was more stuff then what they explained in the book. In chapter 2 of the book Chris dies but in the movie he does not die at the beginning of the film, instead he dies at the very end. In the movie they had a transition from Alex being in college into his graduation from Emory College. I enjoyed the beautiful visuals of the nature in this movie. There were so many amazing and beautiful things such as the animals that we see. The nature is such a beautiful place and they truly show the beauties of it in this movie. I also really enjoyed the music in this movie. The singer Eddie Vender is one of my favorite singers and I feel that this music fits the mood of the movie. The movie made the book much more clear to me. I thought that the movie made the part about when Chris lived in a bus more clear to me. I didn't know that Chris actually lived in that bus for a while when he was in the wild, i thought that he just lived there for one night and then kept moving on. I also enjoyed the flashbacks of this movie. The flashbacks helped me understand the past of Chris McCandles life and some of the reasons why he might have left his home to go live in the wild. This film improves on the book because the film shows images of Chris and the nature which you had to picture when you were reading the book. The book is superior because the book gave more details of the people that Chris met on his journey. If I were a reviewer for this film I would give in five out of five stars. I loved this movie and it interested me when I saw the images of the animals. I would give the book two out of five stars. This book was not very entertaining to me and I did not like the order of events in it. That is what I thought of this book.
